Mexico’s education institutions, just like many other organizations, currently face a society more demanding of formal processes of knowledge management, in the hopes of being able to take on society’s ever changing needs and challenges; however, the application of new management models often focus mainly on large companies, whose Successful Practices in the Basic Education Program for Children of Migrant Farmworker Families in Mexico objectives and means differ from those found in education institutions, which suffer from difficult financial situations and complex organizational structures that curb the development of effective models for quality education. We propose a model for diffusion of successful practices, which would provide both short and long term solutions, allowing administrative personnel and teachers to share the experiences, processes and projects that have allowed them to solve problems or seize opportunities with successful results. This article describe the process of documentation and dissemination of successful practices carried out by 43 teachers and principals of the Basic Education Program for Children of Migrant Farmworker Families (PRONIM), which is devoted to bring basic education to the migrant population in Mexico, who live in a situation of vulnerability and suffering from educational gaps. This document includes the theoretical framework as a preamble to the model used for the documentation of practices, as well as a description of the practices’ documentation and dissemination process. It also presents a general description of the 8 documented practices and the effect regarding the achievement of PRONIM’s objectives.
